16 cups water 1 1/2 cups white sugar 1/4 teaspoon salt 3/4 cup lemon juice |

| Stir all ingredients until sugar is disolved. The salt acts as an emulsifier, prevents separation, and stops lemon juice from browning. Not adding the salt can cause undesirable results. |
