Strawberry Angel Food Cake
 
Ingredients: 1 cup egg whites
3/4 teaspoons cream of tartar
1/8 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1 cup strawberries, mashed
1 cup triple-sifted cake flour
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/3 teaspoon salt
 
Directions Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
In a large bowl, beat egg whites with salt and cream of tartar until foamy. Gradually add sugar, continuing to beat until stiff peaks form. Blend in baking powder, vanilla, and almond extract, and strawberries. Slowly add flour until evenly mixed. Pour batter into a clean dry 10 inch cake pan.
Bake in the preheated oven for 50 minutes. Invert pan and allow cake to cool.
